Getting Started with Regular Hours
Everything happens after Regular Hours.
You need regular hours for work and for play, even as a mom.
I’m not talking about work as in leave the house for a job.
I’m talking about the work you do to keep the household running.
And you need to have fun.
You need to give yourself something to look forward to.
Organized moms have regular hours for work and for play.
As soon as you define your regular hours, your life opens up.
Both your time AND your energy feel more expansive.
Your head clears and you become focused.
And when you continue to plan in the way that I teach you, you feel purposeful.
Want to learn how to set Regular Hours?
The best way to feel better as a stay at home mom is to create Regular Hours for your life.
Most moms don’t want to do this because it sounds monotonous.
They think that if they do the same things day in and day out, they’ll feel worse, not better.
But your brain loves consistency.
It loves to know what’s happening next.
Creating a repeatable schedule for you to follow will be good for your brain.
Write out Monday-Friday on a piece of paper and fill in the following:
1️⃣ how often you want to clean and do laundry?
2️⃣ when will you get groceries and run errands?
3️⃣ when will you go through the mail, pay bills, plan your menu?
4️⃣ when will you play, connect with friends, or have creative time?
5️⃣ when will you clean out your brain and do self care?
These are just some of the things I help my clients put in their Regular Hours.
Look at your life and notice what you’re already doing and use that as a guide for creating yours.
Then, the work becomes following it.
You have to commit to your schedule long enough to follow it.
That’s the only way to know if it serves you or not.
When you do it right, your Regular Hours will create structure, focus, and fun in your life.
And this is just the beginning. This is just a framework.
From here, we plan specifics in and around your Regular Hours that light up your life.
You’ll actually use your planner.
You will feel more purposeful in your days.

I’m going you another approach because how you create your Regular Hours isn’t so important.
The key is to have a schedule you can repeat that includes all the things you need to do and that feels good to you.
First, start with 120 hours (M-F, 24 hours each).
Then, subtract how much sleep you want to have. 8 hours a night would be -40 hours.
This is how many hours you have each day to do what you want.
To define your Regular Hours further, subtract (or schedule in) time for meal prep, eating, and clean up.
Then subtract time for your workout, shower, mindful time, etc.
Then subtract time for cleaning and laundry.
Keep going until you have everything in your schedule.
If you run out of time, that’s a clear signal of why you’re overwhelmed. You’re literally trying to do too much.
You have to learn how to say no.
We all have the same amount of time.
There is a way to make it work for you.
Someone somewhere is already doing it.
